Tradicionalmente os verões do Warung Beach Club são marcamos por grandes estreias, sendo o momento de arriscar um pouco mais e apresentar novos nomes do radar para seu público. Ao longo de sua história, o Templo sempre usou o Garden como pista de apoio para lançar artistas, utilizando uma fórmula de sucesso que se baseia em trazer um DJ consolidado e na mesma noite apostar em uma novidade. No dia 21 de janeiro, o duo Mind Against veio ao Inside para um `all night long` muito atrativo aos fãs do melodic house & techno mais obscuro. No Garden, a ideia foi trazer a nova estrela israelense Shat T. Seu nome já era conhecido entre os fãs de house progressivo e organic house, devido as suas excelentes produções que constantemente aparecem nas melhores posições do Beatport. Ele estaria em tour pela América do Sul e a chance de se apresentar em um dos melhores clubes do mundo estava na mesa.
Nascido em uma fonte de talentos que surgiu no Oriente Médio, Shai já teve trabalhos na All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Lost Miracle e TRYBESof. Há alguns anos eu escrevi uma matéria sobre a nova safra de produtores de Israel, um país histórico dentro da cena psytrance e que agora está novamente em evidência através de uma nova geração que é liderada por gigantes como Guy Gerber e Guy J. Caras como Khen, Guy Mantzur, Sahar Z, Roy Rosenfeld, entre outros fazem parte desse time de sonoridades melódicas, obscuras e tribais que agora tem Shai se juntando. Essa `trupe` me faz lembrar a geração dos super DJs e produtores ingleses dos anos 90 que dominaram a cena global por mais de 15 anos.
Quando seu nome foi anunciado, fiquei muito feliz, pois havia feito uma entrevista com ele em 2021 sobre o lançamento do EP "The Last Dance", além dele gravar um set para o Alataj que me surpreendeu pela qualidade de mixagens, porém, em 1h, não é possível ver todo o potencial de um produtor quando se traveste de DJ. Nesse set para o Warung Waves, ele também já demonstrava sinais de ser um ótimo DJ, porém, faltava a prova real ao vivo.
Cheguei mais tarde no clube e ZAC estava se apresentando. O catarinense está no seu melhor momento e sua música progressiva sempre me faz lembrar do Leozinho durante a era de ouro do Templo entre 2005 e 2011, quando jogava um estilo parecido com muito groove e pura classe. ZAC é um daqueles residentes chaves por ser uma espécie de pilar que sempre vai estar ali mostrando ao público qual é o som essência do clube. Com mixagens finas e muita presença de palco, seu set foi ideal para o segundo horário da noite, levando até às 3h quando Shai assumiu com muita tranquilidade. Para quem estava ali pela primeira vez, me surpreendeu a forma com que ele parecia que já conhecia o clube de longa data.

Logo em suas primeiras duas músicas, era possível sentir uma vibe diferente na pista; mais solta, leve e dançante. Esse é o poder do organic house, novo estilo cunhado pelo Beatport para abraçar sonoridades com elementos mais vivos e tribais. Seria um meio termo entre o deep house e o progressive house. Shai T é considerado um dos cinco principais produtores do portal dentro deste estilo e, sem dúvidas, será um dos líderes nos próximos anos. Eu acho ótimo que o Beatport venha estratificando cada vez mais os gêneros eletrônicos e facilitando a vida de quem busca por certos gêneros bem específicos. Em consequência, novos mercados surgem e outros artistas conseguem projeções que antes não poderiam alcançar devido as suas colocações musicais estarem em listas não adequadas para seus públicos em potencial. O primeiro destaque da noite vai para Tim Green com "Mobara", fazendo os sorrisos do jovem público reverberar por todos os lados.
Esses elementos tribais, folclóricos, nativos, são extremamente envolventes e eu considero uma das principais portas de entrada para novos seguidores – música que te convida para dançar a todo instante, breaks longos quase não existem ou estão acompanhados sempre por elementos de ritmo até voltar as batidas. Em seguida DJ Chus & Dennis Cruz em "The Sun" ilustra também o comentário.
Enamour em "Bending The Light" completa a primeira meia hora com a pista completamente nas mãos do DJ. Eu sempre valorizo muito quando um artista mais novo traz ao público músicas clássicas que não são de sua geração, um verdadeiro DJ deve sempre fazer questão de educar seu público onde quer que esteja quanto ao passado. Shai mostrou isso jogando um dos maiores clássicos de todos os tempos,"I Feel Love" de Donna Summer. Ainda, ele demonstrou toda sua técnica apurada ao fazer um mashup da faixa original, uma espécie de remix ao vivo utilizando outra faixa como base rítmica. "Alien" de Cypherpunx & Sian Evans com remix de Sebastien Leger fez todos saírem do balanço mental para levantar as mãos.
Facundo Mohrr com "Mondo" foi a faixa de saída dessa primeira hora como cartão de visitas. Na segunda parte do set, a pista pedia por mais introspecção, e ela veio com "Small Alarms" de Guy J, além de Khen com "Out Of A Dream". Shai manteve-se nesse ritmo com o público dançando sem parar. Outro conterrâneo seu aparece em "Lift Of Love" de Roy Rosenfeld.

A última hora foi aberta com ele mais uma vez demonstrando sua afinação com tracks históricas, simplesmente o hino "The Man With A Red Face" de Laurent Garnier me deixou emocionado e me fez lembrar do quanto eu desejo o retorno da lenda francesa ao clube, seu último show em 2018 está em meu top 5. Além de servir para dar aquela quebrada no set e por todos de volta ao chão, a música foi a deixa para olhar para os lados e acima ver ver o céu branco do início da manhã; estava nublado, com alguma garoa, porém, com uma pista quente e energética, só faltando o Sol.
Em seguida, finalmente ele trouxe um de seus últimos trabalhos, e que faixa! "The Last Dance" às 05h20 não poderia faltar. Quando eu pensei em dar uma pequena espiada em Mind Against, só para ver o que estava rolando no Inside, Shai tratou de me fazer ficar ainda mais perto da cabine colocando nada menos que "Lost & Found" de Guy J, música que completa 10 anos em 2022 e que marca o nome da gravadora do `gênio` baixinho. Ouvi essa música a primeira vez pelas mãos de Hernan Cattaneo no ano de lançamento, e sempre que ouço me faz lembrar porque é uma das minhas favoritas. Ela é daquelas que nunca devem sair da case dos amantes da progressão e melodia.
Não satisfeito em novamente emocionar a todos, Shai coloca algo impossível de não reconhecer por qualquer geração na pista, The Verve em "Bitter Sweet Symphony" (Amonita & Makebo Remix) fez todos delirarem e ovacionarem em reverência.
Me pareceu que Shai pensou em selecionar o que tinha de melhor em sua case dos últimos dois anos para sua estreia – o que faz todo sentido, visto que não há histórico e perigo de repetição. Eu compactuo muito com essa ideia de usar muitas faixas dos últimos anos, afinal há uma infinidade de trabalhos incríveis que passam desapercebido. Tocar sempre as `últimas promos` não é garantia de um set incrível, afinal a exclusividade fica em segundo plano quando olhamos para o poder de emocionar e transpirar uma pista.

"Confusion" &ME, Rampa & Adam, foi a escolha para o fechamento, contando com o vocal do respeitabilíssimo Ali Love e trazendo aquela sensação de "que set maravilhoso", que construção bem feita, que aula de conhecimento musical e que estreia. Sem dúvidas uma das mais impactantes do verão e que merece um retorno breve, pois certamente Shai T ainda tem muito a mostrar.

Highlight in music production, Israeli surprises with his DJ side at Warung
Traditionally, the summers of Warung Beach club are marked by great debuts, being the time for the club to risk a little more and present new names on the radar to its audience. Throughout its history, the temple has always used the garden as a support track to launch artists, using a successful formula that is based on bringing in a consolidated artist and, on the same night, betting on someone new. On January 21st, the duo Mind Against came to Inside room for an all night long set very attractive to fans of the darkest melodic house & techno. In the garden, the idea was to bring in the new Israeli star Shat T. His name was already known among fans of progressive house and organic house, due to his excellent productions that constantly appear in the best positions of beatport. He would be touring South America and the chance to perform in one of the best clubs in the world was on the table.
Born into a talent pool that grew out of the Middle East, Shai has worked with All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Lost Miracle and TRYBESof. A few years ago I wrote an article about the new team of producers from Israel, a historic country within the psy-trance scene that is now in the spotlight again through a new generation that is led by giants like Guy Gerber and Guy J. Names like Khen, Guy Mantzur, Sahar Z, Roy Rosenfeld, among others, are part of this team of melodic, dark and tribal sounds that now has Shai joining. This ‘’troupe’’ reminds me of the 90’s generation of British super DJs and producers that dominated the global scene for over 15 years. When his name was announced, I was very happy, because I had done an interview with him in 2021 about the release of the EP ``The last dance``, in addition to recording a set for alataj that surprised me by the quality of mixes, however, in 1 hour, it is not possible to see the full potential of a producer when he is a DJ. In this set for Warung Waves, he also showed signs of being a great DJ, however, he lacked the real proof live.
I arrived later at the club and Zac was performing. The Santa Catarina native is at his best and his progressive music always reminds me of Leozinho during the golden age of the temple between 2005 and 2011, when he played a style similar to a lot of groove and pure class. Zac is one of those key residents for being a kind of pillar that will always be there showing the public what the club`s essence sound is. With fine mixes and a lot of stage presence, his set was ideal for the second phase of the night, leading until 3am when Shai took over with a lot of tranquility. For someone who was there for the first time, I was surprised at how he seemed to have known the club for a long time.
From their first two songs, you could feel a different vibe on the dance floor; looser, lighter and more dancing. This is the power of organic house, a new style created by Beatport to embrace sounds with more lively and tribal elements. It would be a middle ground between deep house and progressive house. Shai T is considered one of the top 5 producers of the portal within this style and will undoubtedly be one of the leaders in the coming years. I think it`s great that Beatport is increasingly stratifying electronic genres and making life easier for those looking for certain very specific types of music. As a result, new markets emerge and other artists achieve projections they could not reach before because their musical placements are on lists not suited to their potential audiences.
The first highlight of the night goes to Tim Green with “Mobara”, making the smiles of the young audience reverberate from all sides. These tribal, folkloric, native elements are extremely engaging and I consider it one of the main gateways for new followers – music that invites you to dance all the time, long breaks almost don`t exist or are always ccompanied by elements of rhythm until the beats. Then DJ Chus & Dennis Cruz in ‘’The Sun’’ also illustrates the commentary. Enamour in ``Bending the light`` completes the first half hour with the garden completely in the hands of the DJ. I always value it very much when a younger artist brings historycal music to the public that is not of his generation, a rue DJ should always make a point of educating his audience wherever he is about the past. Shai showed this by playing one of the greatest classics of all time, Donna Summer`s ``I feel Love``. Still, he demonstrated all his refined technique by making a mashup of the original track, a kind of live remix using another track as a rhythmic base. ‘’Alien’’ by Cypherpunx & Sian Evans with remix by Sebastien Leger had everyone coming out of the mental swing to raise their hands.
Facundo Mohrr with ``Mondo`` finished the first hour as a business card. In the second part of the set, the crowd called for more introspection, and it came with Guy J`s ``Small Alarms``, in addition to Khen with ‘’Out of a dream’’. Shai kept up this rhythm with the audience dancing nonstop. Another fellow countryman appears in Roy Rosenfeld`s ``Lift Of Love``. The last hour opened with him once again demonstrating his tuning with historic tracks, simply the anthem ``The Man with a Red Face`` by Laurent Garnier left me emotional and reminded me of how much I long for the French legend to return to club, his last show in 2018 is in my top 5. In addition to serving to break the set and for everyone back to the ground, the song was the cue to look to the sides and above to see the white sky of the beginning of the morning; it was cloudy, with some drizzle, but with a hot and energetic runway, just missing the sun.
Then finally he brought one of his latest works, and what a track! ``The last Dance`` at 05:20 am, could not be missed. When I thought of taking a little peek at Mind Against, just to see what was going on Inside, Shai tried to get me even closer to the stage by putting on nothing less than Guy J`s ``Lost & Found``, a song that turns 10 years in 2022 and that marks the name of the record label of the ``genius``. I heard this song for the first time by Hernan Cattaneo in the year of release, and every time I hear it it reminds me why it`s one of my favorites. It is one of those that should never leave the house of lovers of progression and melody. Not satisfied with thrilling everyone again, Shai puts something impossible not to recognize by any generation on the floor, The Verve on ‘’Bitter Sweet Symphony’’ (Amonita & Makebo remix) had everyone raving and cheering in awe.
It seems to me that Shai thought about selecting the best of his case from the last 2 years for his debut – which makes perfect sense. I really agree with this idea of using a lot of tracks from the last few years, after all there are a multitude of amazing works that go unnoticed. Always playing the `latest promos` is not a guarantee of an amazing set, after all exclusivity is in the background when we look at the power to thrill and exude a crowd ``Confusion`` &ME, Rampa &Adam, was the choice for the closing, with the vocals of the very respectable Ali Love and bringing that feeling of ``what a wonderful set``, what a well made construction, what a musical knowledge class and debut. Undoubtedly one of the most impactful of the summer and that deserves a brief return, as Shai T still has a lot to show.
